State of the Union

Well, it is interesting what a narcissist thinks of the state of the union, especially when he is the one in charge of it. Did we really feel he would be honest, even the least bit realistic?

No, we did not. That’s because we are the realists in the room, not him.

The actual state of the union is described by these statements:

1.      US leadership of the Free World does not currently exist

2.      The economy is in a state of deep confusion; parts of it are thriving while other parts are in the doldrums

3.      Employment is up in some sectors while drastically low in others

4.      Housing costs are through the roof and trending higher

5.      Cost of living in most other components are rising with vigor as well

6.      Investment opportunities do exist, plentifully so

7.      NATO is rudderless and ill-prepared to defend against Russia or China

8.      The Ukraine war is trending long and killing many innocent civilians

9.      Federal services in our own country are faltering due to Executive Branch efforts to undercut the agencies designed to support those same services

10. Taxes are not going down; tariffs are taxes and we pay them. Taxes are therefore rising

11. Republicans are declining in leadership and resolve; that’s good

12. Democrats are taking up the cudgel and leading. That’s very good.

13. The overall state of the union is weak, but this portends opportunities with which many of us can thrive. The majority will not.

I’m not the President. But I bet my statements above are more accurate than DJT’s.
