One Big Job

Besides surviving, there is truly one big job we all must do in 2026. Simply put, that is remove all power from Donald J. Trump as president of the United States. Period.

This is happening in many ways at this very moment. The Supreme Court seems to have found their courage and standing up to Trump at nearly every turn. Republican congressmen and women are pledging to not run for another term. Others are considering resignation. Either or both of these steps will reduce congressional numbers enough to toss Speaker Johnson out of a job. The democrats will resume House leadership. The threat of the midterm elections will continue to finish this job spectacularly. Whether this happens remains to be seen, but all the omens are aligning correctly at this moment in history. Independent agencies are also resisting Trump leadership.

The rest of us need to donate money, be present at public protests to demonstrate opposition to MAGA and Trump whenever possible. We all need to write letters to the editor of public media to show our opposition. If you write a blog or any other published print, continue to do so and provide visible opposition as appropriate. And when asked to vote, know the issues and vote against republicans, MAGA and Trump and any of this minions. This will get the job done. In 2026.

Once this is done, agencies and Congress will need to do the work to remove Trump’s impositions and restore our national values and images. The Kennedy Center should be named accordingly and any Trump designation removed. Same for anything else so improperly labeled. But we need to take care; the real work is to focus on issues that matter and have been ignored during the Trump regime. One of these is healthcare insurance. The republicans have always been against these programs without offering a better program to replace what the democrats produced. Get back to business so the American public is better insured and cared for than before.

The Defense Department needs to reclaim that name for itself and drop the War Department nomenclature. Military personnel should be removed from public policing immediately if they haven’t already. The Education Department should resume its original purpose and programs. States need this leadership to provide fairness of access to all. The same with all other agencies perverted during the Trump years.

America needs to be focused on what the nation needs to be doing. Preserving itself is meaningless unless the rest of the world is experiencing progress in human services and peace. Let’s get back to doing just that. And yes, the rest of the global community needs to take responsibility for their share of the work and expense. Americans need not do it all for others. But providing leadership should be a good thing, not and exploitative threat.

Cancel Trump and restore what makes America great in the first place – her people.
