Chaos

Indeed, chaos reigns these days. At least in America.

The Donald Days are proof of that. Nonsense Executive Orders that have little precedent, slim logic, and no legal consequence. That’s their point, you see. EOs are issued for immediate effect, then when reaction time ensues, lawsuits occur. Court sessions engage and chaos happens. Chao from the EO immediate effect, then lawsuit chaos, then court chaos.

That is the plan. Meanwhile, millions think the EOs are legitimate and both public and government employees abide by the order. Chaos follows.

International friends and enemies alike are baffled but think the actions are real. They make decisions accordingly and chaos ensues. International power hubs meet to discuss the issues and chaos expands. No one knows what to think other than America has turned a corner, is nuts, and allies must take actions that focus on their own needs.

Alliances crumble, international markets crumble, and soon even opinions crumble.

We observe the resulting chaos.

Not all chaos is bad. Some upsets old thought patterns and regulations that are now seen more clearly. Obvious change is needed and provided. Old markets operate better, international agreements run smoother, and fresh ideas are present.

But this result is happenstance and should have taken place sooner with established authorities and processes. The chaos only caused it to happen now, but the chaos itself causes much larger problems. These are the ones intended to occur.

We must understand that the Donald has enabled chaos throughout his life. It is what he does. It has worked for him quite well. Not that he understands the issues in front of him, but he knows that chaos itself causes change, often manipulated at the moment to benefit him and his organizations.

What he didn’t count on was the Epstein matter. He gullibly engaged Epstein and expanded it to others. He is involved. He is part and parcel of the Epstein operation. His private airplane flew a reported 27 trips to the Epstein island. These facts reported by Donald’s own pilot.

So, the Epstein files are a critical matter that the Donald cannot control. We can. The public can. It remembers the Epstein files and needs and wants to understand what is in them. This the Donald thinks he cannot allow. So he creates more chaos to befuddle everything. This is designed to thwart release of the Epstein files.

All the more reason for us to do so. Perhaps then the chaos will subside? Even end?

It is the answer to the Donald. Now and always.

Pie: Apple pie more specifically. With Thanksgiving just passed, many of us enjoyed a good apple pie. Sure, there was pumpkin to accompany the turkey, but in our family multiple pies are offered in the holidays. Apple is surely one. Pecan, pumpkin and others, too. But I almost always choose apple. When I was in college, I was asked what kind of pie did I eat most often. In front of my mom, I answered apple, because I was always looking for a pie as good as mom’s own. Of course my mother was pleased, but it was a true statement just the same. When I was married, Ann’s pie was darned good. Her mother’s recipe. But we fiddled with the recipe until it took on its own generational name, and boy, was it good! Remembering Tom Sherlock

Tom Sherlock died on Wednesday, April 3rd. He was 65 years old and did not survive a heart surgery. That was his unexpected end and sad enough. But there is more to his story. Tom joined Dan Schuyler and George Safford to create what became the Village Chronicles, a weekly newspaper serving Warrenville, Illinois. That paper expanded to serve Winfield and then West Chicago. The paper published for eight years and built a good reputation for itself. Tom served the paper in several ways. He was our information technology guru, provided hardware and software to support the paper's operations. He was our sole bookkeeper, accountant and financial manager. He designed our distribution process and provided office space for meetings and layout and typesetting. His efforts supported the work of 32 volunteers who wrote and reported on the communities we served.  The newspaper broke even financially most of the time, but it was a struggle.
