Musk and…
Elon Musk is a very bright man. He has invented new products, new manufacturing techniques, even new combinations of technology to produce even newer products to meet the world's needs. I know this. I respect this. I celebrate it.
But I condemn him for manipulating his fame and reputation
as a means to change our governance structure to serve his own needs. At the
cost of most everyone else. That is a primary sin that is unforgivable for me.
Do good in the world. Do it for others, not yourself. That’s
what the nonprofit world is all about. Evidently, the opposite is true for
for-profit entities. It doesn’t have to be like that, and better if it isn’t.
But hey, that’s just me. I think it is cool for people to look out for others,
and even sacrifice for the benefit of others.
I wonder how Elon thinks his way is good for the planet, the
people of the planet, and even his own country.
Being a success at anything does not automatically make you
a success for governing people. Electric cars are an excellent alternative to
gas engine powered cars. However, electric vehicles are not without cost to the
planet. Batteries needed to power EVs use rare earths and minerals that poison
the environment and disturb the planet. Substituting one form of pollution for
another does not automatically produce the good the world needs.
His form of governance also supports controlling women’s
bodies. There are other ways to control abortions besides controlling women’s
bodies. Controlling men’s penises is one of those controls. In fact, changing
control from women’s bodies to men’s bodies should inform the body politic of
crucial points. It fundamentally changes everything and should prove to elected
officials that they have been wrong headed about this subject for a long time.
Reducing the size of government is another issue to tackle.
Size matters when you are trying to solve huge problems. Medicare and Social
Security are not socialism. They are government services that improve the lives
of everyone in old age. If you can solve that enormous problem with smaller
government and fewer dollars, have at it. Just don’t do it by diminishing human
dignity.
Just those two issues are enough to question what Elon is
all about. It certainly isn’t about electric vehicles or smaller government. It
is about control and money. Such a cheap end to a man who is capable of so much
more.
