Fox News, Etc.

Larry Kudlow, a Fox News business correspondent stated President Biden inherited a booming economy and now we are headed toward a recession. How could he have messed this up so badly?

Just the opposite is true of course. The economy had been struggling through the COVID pandemic with all of it shocks and woes. Massive spending stabilized the economy but with a whole set of other problems created by those fixes. Then the Ukraine/Russo war exacerbated shipping supply chains, then energy markets, and a whole lot of other problems radiating out from those complications. The economy has been battered and bruised to be sure.

Then, on Biden’s watch absorption of these ills was the agenda of the day. Employment was back in the swing as employers geared up for improved markets. Job creation has been stunning. And these are good jobs, good pay with solid prospects for growth. Inflation was the result set into motion by the earlier developments. With expanding employment inflation was kindled further.

The Federal Reserve is doing its part to dampen inflation. With those moves the economy is unsettled. An overpriced stock market has been in for adjustments. That appears to be happening now. However, the operating environment for many industries is still plagued by supply chain blockages, energy shortages and concurrent rising energy prices, and massive retraining and adaptation to new work environments remain a challenge.

Blaming any sitting president for these struggles is unfair and inappropriate.

Larry Kudlow knows this. He is a reporter ‘journalist’ with a following for supporting commercial industries. He has a following that makes him valuable for his own compensation. Stirring the pot is one way to boost TV ratings. In short, he is not a journalist but a booster of commercial interests. Working for Fox News provides him freedom to sow his point of view.

That point of view is a manipulation of truth and fact. Yet followers of Fox love this sort of attack and criticism. It is their mainstay.

I have long questioned the credibility of Kudlow. Now we know for certain what his game is all about.

Another shame for Fox.
