I’m With Joe

You should be with Joe as well. Here’s why.

Joe Biden has been in the halls of congress for decades, then the Vice President, and now President. He has been on committees, panels and special task forces on and off for decades. He knows how the federal government works.

He was present and engaged at key times of our nation’s history. He knows how to respond to emergencies, support the military, support public education, forge pathways through problems that improve quality of life for many.

Joe Biden, in short, is a public servant with a rare and positive background.

Is he too old to be president? No; he is president and 80 years old. He is doing fine. Is he too old to be re-elected for a second term? Yes. We should be identifying his successor so we can continue to focus on long term solutions to the nation’s problems.

I like Joe Biden. I trust Joe Biden. He is very transparent and that’s something we need at this fractious period of history. Joe makes a great healer in times of woe, and he is a great bridge between old and new leaders.

In our political landscape of 2022, many heap fault on Joe for our many problems. Truth be told, those problems were directly caused by many people before Joe entered the White House. You know that. I know that. But the uncivil assholes in politics, want to smear all evil on Joe so they can recapture the White House in the next election.

The politics of disruption has been with us for many years, now. It is time to pause and repair our ship of state. Remove the naysayers while we do the necessary repair work. Don’t agree with the nature of the repairs? Well, that’s too bad. Cooperate and collaborate on a time schedule that actually gets something done. Stop playacting. Stop trying to look like you are doing something when in actuality all you are doing is stalling and blocking progress. Like gun legislation?

Our nation needs doers and repairmen at this time. Let’s get the work done. Argue your ideological nonsense later when we are whole. Our military needs this support. Our school children need our support. Our elderly and sick need our help. Our justice system needs our help to be just.

The art of compromise is absent in the halls of congress. The art of compromise is even lost in the halls of the Supreme Court. Politics is everywhere. Call it what it is and fix it.

Joe Biden has not failed in his job. His nation has failed him. He needs all of our help to hold the country together so the next generation of leaders will have something to work with. Right now, the workings of our national government are in shambles. For all of our sakes, let’s fix this now.

The future depends on us doing reasonable things for reasonable outcomes. Identify the desired outcomes. Work toward them. Don’t worry about who gets credit for it. Actually, we all get credit if our elected officials work together to produce the best outcomes in our name.
