Hope

If memory serves me well, all religions of the world claim a central God and that he loves you. Everything else revolving around that centrality, are myth stories that teach what God’s love means in your life, my life, and the life of all people. It is a universal message.

Each calendar year, religions highlight a turning point in humankind’s history on the planet and make of this event, the beginning of new hope for all lifelong pursuits. Unhappy? Here’s what theology has to say about that and what you can do to lighten your worries and achieve happier results. These myth stories also preach low points and regular day to day challenges that need solutions. Handily, theology has answers.

All of this claims that the point of God’s Love is to give us sustaining hope for our lives.

Here are the ‘Hopes’ I have listed for 2022 and beyond.

1.       Quality of life

a.       Equal access to excellent healthcare

b.       Equal access to excellent education

c.       Equal access to sustainable food, housing and transportation

d.       Equal access to a safe and secure justice system

2.       War to preserve the planet

a.       Total defeat of fossil fuels as fuel

b.       Total effort to find and secure alternative energy sources

c.       Defeat global warming; restore temperate climate norms

d.       Nurture biodiversity and the balance of nature

3.       War against war and the geopolitics that entails

a.       Complete victory for cyberspace defense designs

b.       Protection of intellectual property, safety from theft

c.       Major reductions of military budgets and forces throughout the globe

d.       Global Village is strong, safe and secure

If we declared war efforts against much of the topics listed above, I think we would reduce overall expenditures by governments and redirect wasted resources to the efforts spent on the above. Under this scenario, employment opportunities would be broadly available because our people will be properly trained and educated to perform new and meaningful careers. Standards of living would soar appropriately. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness would be fully engaged in most households, and on the upswing for those not yet endowed.

Life expectancy would be longer than it is now, and health well cared for. Strife would be greatly lessened. Challenges would be easier to manage. Entrepreneurs would be rewarded for their willingness to take risks and build new businesses which serve mankind’s needs. Our nation and partners in the global village will be fully engaged in living positively.

All these things I wish for you and yours in the coming years. May the hope of Christmas be the beacon that shines bright in your life now and forever.
